Baton to celebrate Christmas in Kenya

Kenya, 25 Dec 2009: The baton will reach Nairobi in Kenya on Christmas Day, thereby making Kenya its first East African host. The relay will start frbm international airport to city centre, Nairobi. On Dec 2009, the baton will visit from MOI International Airport Mombasa to State House, Mombasa. Later in the day, there will be a reception dinner organised by Kenya CGA at the Indian High Commissioner’s Residence.  


The Republic of Kenya is a country in East Africa bordered by Ethiopia (north), Somalia (northeast), Tanzania (south), Uganda plus Lake Victoria (west), and Sudan (northwest). The capital city is Nairobi. Kenya has numerous wildlife reserves, containing thousands of animal species.


Kenya first participated in 1954 British Empire and Commonwealth Games held in Vancouver, Canada. Kenya is participating regularly since 1990 Commonwealth Games held in Auckland, New Zealand.
