The Queen’s Baton 2010 Delhi reaches its penultimate destination, Haryana

SIRSA: The Queen’s Baton 2010 Delhi, on its 20,000-kilometres-long journey across India, has reached its penultimate destination, Haryana.

Earlier, the baton team departed from Bikaner in the morning and reached Suratgarh in Rajasthan, where it was received by the MP of Hanumangarh.

Along the way, over 5,000 excited people lined the roads, cheering on the Batonbearers. The baton was then handed over by the Rajasthan State Olympic Association to the President of the Haryana State Olympic Association at the state border.

The baton then arrived at the Indoor Khel Pariser, Dabwali in the evening where it was warmly welcomed by students who were very enthusiastic about the Games.

On its arrival in Sirsa, the relay was flagged off from Sirsa Stadium. After a 3-kilometre relay, the baton reached Shaheed Bhagat Singh Stadium. The day culminated with a colourful function at night.
