Queen's Baton Relay journeys across Delhi

NEW DELHI, 1 October 2010: The Queen's Baton 2010 Delhi is being taken around the city in the final lap of its magnificent journey across the country, reports India Today.

The Queen's Baton Relay 2010 Delhi started in the city from Vijay Chowk at 7 am today and reached India Gate. Earlier, the baton was given a rousing welcome as it reached Organising Committee Commonwealth Games 2010 Delhi’s headquarters on Thursday.
 
The baton will be later put on display at Teen Murti Bhawan, Qutub Minar and Lotus Temple from where it will travel to the Delhi Secretariat.
 
On Saturday, the baton will be taken to Gurudwara Rakab Ganj Sahib where it will be kept for 20 minutes for visitors. Thereafter, the baton will travel to St. Columba’s Cathedral and also visit the Rail Museum in Chankyapuri en route to the Games Village.
 
The Queen's Baton will reach Games Village at 10.55 am where it will be on display for 45 minutes. It will then be taken on a trip to city landmarks like Akshardham Temple, Rajghat, Red Fort and Jama Masjid. The journey will conclude at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, where the Games opening ceremony takes place on Sunday.
