To participate, you simply have to upload/record a 60 second video on YouTube stating why Shera should choose you as a Delhi 2010 Volunteer and what do the Commonwealth Games 2010 Delhi mean to you. After you have uploaded/recorded your video, just send us the video link to contest.cwg@gmail.com ; and if shortlisted, we will call you for a fast track interview. Simple as that!


Detailed Instructions



Uploading/Recording Videos On YouTube:

YouTube allows its users to either upload a recorded video from their computer’s hard drive or directly record a video through their webcam. Below are detailed instructions for both these methods:

Uploading a Video On YouTube From Your Hard Drive

  1. Go to the website YouTube.com
  2. Create an account if you do not already have one. Or go onto the next step if you already have an account.
  3. Log into your account.
  4. Click the yellow "Upload" button on the top right-hand side of the homepage.
  5. Choose the recorded video file.
  6. Click the 'Upload Video' button. Click "browse" to search for a video on your computer. When you find the video file, click "Upload Video".
  7. Click the 'Upload Video' button. Click "browse" to search for a video on your computer. When you find the video file, click "Upload Video".
  8. Hit 'Save' button and your title, description, etc. will be saved when your video has completed uploading. When the bar fills, you have posted a video on YouTube!

Recording a Video On YouTube

  1. Go to the website YouTube.com
  2. Create an account if you do not already have one. Or go onto the next step if you already have an account.
  3. Log into your account.
  4. Go to the "Record From Webcam" page (http://www.youtube.com/my_webcam).
  5. Enter the information about your video in the left column. This is required before you begin recording.
  6. If you get a message that says "www.youtube.com is requesting access to your camera and microphone," click the "Allow" button.
  7. If you don't see a picture in the record section, you may need to choose a different video source from the video dropdown in the "Record Video" window.
  8. Once you see a picture coming from your camera, click the "Record" button to start recording your video.
  9. When you're finished recording, click the "Done" button if you're satisfied with your video, or click the "Re-Record" button if you'd like to try recording it again.
  10. When you click the "Done" button, your video is automatically uploaded to YouTube and starts processing. You can edit information about the video by going to the "My Videos" page (http://www.youtube.com/my_videos).
  11. If you're having trouble using webcam, you may want to make sure any firewall software you may have is allowing the connection to our server. If you're on a corporate or school network the connection may be blocked. You might want to check with your network administrator to find out what restrictions your network's under.


Sending Us The Link

After you have uploaded/recorded your 60 second video on YouTube, all you need to do is send us the link to your video accompanied by your contact details and a scanned copy of your ID proof to contest.cwg@gmail.com by Sunday, 6 pm, 2 May 2010.
