Games Lane

To ensure seamless movement of Games related and general traffic, dedicated Games Lane are marked on all important routes connecting the international and domestic airports to the Games Village and to all venues including Games Family Hotels and the Commonwealth Games Village.

The Games Lane will be manned, enforced and regulated by traffic officers, lane monitors, motorcycle patrolling and traffic volunteers. The ongoing public awareness campaign will be conducted through different media viz., SMS alert service, websites, newspapers, television, radio and pages of Delhi Traffic Police on social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter.

Mode of segregation for Games Lane:
Road markings and signage
Physical segregation with bollards and barricades, etc., where necessary
Use of onsite and mobile public address system

Management of Games Lanes
Games lanes will have a distinct identity by marking the roads with a distinct colour (blue and white) and Games Logo
The lanes will generally be on extreme right except on certain stretches
Intersection management – the Games traffic will be facilitated by manual regulation of traffic at important intersections
Duration – the lanes will be operational throughout the Games period
Time of Operation will be notified on daily basis depending on the schedule of events

Modalities of Games Lane
It has been decided that at most of the roads Games lane will be along the Central Verge (both sides) except at a few places
Arrows are painted at every 200 metres
Base of the lane will be dark blue. The logo of the Games will be in white and there will be yellow line on both sides
Where ever there is a lane change, it will be marked as a lane changing zone, left to right or right to left
Lane changing zones will have signage at four different stages
