The XIX Commonwealth Games 2010 Delhi are being held from 3 to 14 October 2010. About 10,000 Athletes, Coaches, Technical Officials, Members of Commonwealth Games Federations and Associations, International and National Media, Broadcasters and Sponsors, etc., will visit Delhi for the mega event.

Large number of dignitaries and invitees would arrive to attend the Opening and Closing Ceremonies and other events at Jawaharlal Nehru Sports Complex and at other venues respectively. Thousands of spectators and guests from across the world will also witness different events. This generates a massive volume of vehicular and pedestrian traffic.  Elaborate arrangements have been made to regulate traffic across the city to facilitate smooth flow of traffic and transport.

These arrangements will ensure seamless movement for all Games related traffic including VIP movements as well as allow minimal dislocation of normal city traffic. Arrangements for unhindered parking and traffic circulation arrangements at all venues, including the media centre, airports, railway stations, inter-state bus stands, hotels and places of tourist’s interest, etc., have been planned and executed.

Citizens of Delhi are encouraged to use different modes of public transport including the Metro and Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) buses and car pooling for which a public awareness programme is being conducted.
